Lukla has grown rapidly with the introduction of its airport. It is the first sight that trekkers get introduced to when visiting Everest Region. According to trekking itinerary many trekkers walk from Lukla to Phakding or Monjo on their first day or take rest at Lukla but everyone spend their last days of trekking at Lukla town. While many would portray the place to be only an air terminal and accommodation, this curious little town unquestionably offers substantially more than that. Lukla offers variety of shops and lodges catering to tourists and trekkers ranging from simple to luxury. If you have time at Lukla you will have option to visit Kemgon Gompa as there are some beautiful paintings, Watching the flight coming in and out of Lukla airport and many more.
